The New Generation Transport trolleybus proposal is simply the wrong solution being applied to the wrong route.
The scheme is opposed by all the resident groups that represent the local communities which see the A660 as their local street.
It offers the prospect of obliterating the many mature trees which contribute to the green character and attractiveness of north west Leeds.
The overhead cabling system and road widening would seriously detract from the streetscene, character and heritage of six conservation areas which bound the A660.
It is likely to seriously damage the financial viability of local business, through the loss of customer parking
The A660 is a relatively narrow road serving local communities and small percentage of the total daily Leeds commuter traffic.
